How to remove yourself from Spokeo

Updated August 2026 · About 10 minutes · Difficulty: Easy — one extra step · Written from our own removal runs

Spokeo aggregates your name, age, address history, phone numbers, relatives, and social profiles into a paid report — with enough shown free to identify you. The opt-out is free, but unlike most brokers it requires the URL of your specific listing, so the process has one extra step.

Step-by-step removal

  1. First, find your listing: search your name at spokeo.com and open the profile that’s you. Copy the full URL from the address bar — it looks like spokeo.com/Your-Name/….
  2. Go to the opt-out page: spokeo.com/optout.
  3. Paste your listing URL, enter an email address for the confirmation, and submit.
  4. Check that inbox — Spokeo sends a confirmation email, and the removal doesn’t process until you click the link in it.
  5. Processing typically takes a few days. If it stalls, their privacy contact is privacy@spokeo.com.

What to watch out for

It usually comes back

Spokeo rebuilds profiles from fresh data feeds, and a removed listing often reappears under a new URL months later — which means the old confirmation doesn’t cover it and the process starts over. Re-search yourself periodically, or hand the re-checking to a service built for it.

Or never fill out another opt-out form again

Spokeo is one site. Your information is probably on dozens of its siblings — and most listings quietly return within months. Noira removes you from 650+ sites, proves every removal with before-and-after screenshots, and re-checks about every 30 days, forever.
